Healthy Homes: Our new program, launched in 2024, is in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Oregon. Funded by H.U.D., Newberg Area Habitat is able to provide repairs for income-qualified homeowners at no charge to the homeowner.
A Brush with Kindness (ABWK): Repair program for homeowners who are income-qualified. Homeowner pays for materials and sub-contractor expenses, the affiliate provides both staff and volunteer labor free of charge. This allows low-income homeowners to continue living in their homes.
This program works to make homes safer, more affordable, and healthier through methods to cut down on the dangers in homes such as, toxic chemicals, asthma triggers, and other risks.
The program improves homes by:
Eliminating lead-based paint (LBP) and radon hazards
Ensuring air is clean
Ensuring other home health and safety improvements are made
We welcome those 18 years old and older
